We plant and transplant trees of any size.  Just as it is important to select the right trees for the right places, it is equally important that the trees selected for planting are of high quality.  Planting unthrifty stock is money wasted and sets the stage for future tree health problems.

It is also important for newly established trees to be pruned for form and structure while the trees are young.  This helps them grow up to be well shaped, less prone to structural failure or having defects.  Smaller cuts while the tree is young will heal much quicker than a larger cut when the tree is grown.
